Christian Folly-Kossi is a “Business Leader” in Africa. He has been officially awarded this continental distinction by the leadership journal of South Africa in 2003. In this capacity he ranks among the most internationally known and influential personalities of his native country, the Republic of Togo.
Across the continent he is known as an economist and air transport luminary. Since the year 2000, he has successfully run the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) revitalizing and transforming it into an indispensable organization of reference in the air transport industry.
Prior to his current position at AFRAA, Christian Folly-Kossi served for 21 years in the pioneer multinational airline, Air Afrique, in various management positions in the Commercial and Finance departments. He concluded his career with Air Afrique at the top level as Special Advisor to the Executive Chairman with responsibilities for corporate strategy and relations with the Board and member states.
In the political field, Christian Folly-Kossi has also been advisor to various African Governments. He particularly served as Special advisor to the Prime Minister of Togo and Head of State of Cote d’Ivoire respectively.
The diplomatic skills he strongly built over the years have helped to bring AFRAA, under his leadership, to prominence with Heads of State and prestigious international organizations such as AFRICAN UNION, NEPAD, ADB, ECA, ICAO, IATA and the Breton Woods Institutions.
Christian Folly-Kossi’s wealth of knowledge and experience is in high demand, and he is often requested to grace African andInternational conferencesas a keynote speaker. He regularly communicates with media that often seek his views on air transport industry affairs.

Having graduated from the French Business School of HEC (Hautes Etudes Commerciales, Jouy-en-Josas), Christian Folly-Kossi further attained a post-graduate degree in Economics (DEA) from the University of Paris -Dauphine, and a post graduate certificate in Human Sciences from the College de France in Paris (EHSS)
Fluent in both English and French as working languages, the AFRAA Secretary General easily switches from one to the other language as required to properly communicate with his public.
He is IT literate and this has inspired him to powerfully drive and guide the airline industry in Africa to embrace the latest ICT technologies.
Christian Folly-Kossi was born on 1st March 1953 in Togo. He is married and a father of three. His hobbies include sports, music and reading. |
